Wooden Spoon Society Annual Ball
This was our second year of providing the technical services for the Wooden Spoon Society Annual Ball, held at the Park Lane Hilton every autumn.

Two main trusses were flown from 16 hoists holding over 40 moving heads 24 profiles with scatter gobo’s for the tables and various other generic and intelligent lighting. The main PA was flown from the stage truss as well as out fills and side fills for the stage. 8 subs were hidden under the stage with a 10way monitor system giving two bands individual stage monitoring from a separate mixer desk. We also provided 3 flown projectors with 12 x 9ft screens and 6 back up plasma screens which ensured everyone in the room had a good view of at least one of the screens showing a combination of power point, DVD based film and 3 live camera feeds, all mixed from front of house.

Two main raffle prizes had to be revealed during the meal, one being a motorbike and the other a small car. The bike was hidden in a crate and using a combination of music, lighting and pyrotechnics the box sides were “blown” open revealing the bike inside. The car was hidden inside a separate crate and was revealed by hydraulically lifting it out. The use of pyrotechnics, lighting and live music from the Blues Brothers ensured the reveals of both prizes had the desired wow factor and style.

A host of different entertainment went on through the evening including the marching band of the Irish Guards and the nights dancing was topped of by Johnny Howard’s Roller Coaster band.

We are very honoured to be providing our services again in 2005, so look out for details of this years’ Wooden Spoon Ball in our up and coming events.
